Habitat for Humanity Lakeside is operated by the support of volunteer committees. The committees are typically comprised of volunteers that have experience and a background in their various fields with respect to the tasks the committees carry out. The committees and their descriptions are listed below. All of Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s committees work together to support our mission to help more families in Sheboygan County and Ozaukee County obtain simple, decent and affordable housing.
Volunteer Committee
With more volunteers, Habitat for Humanity Lakeside has greater manpower. The Volunteer Committee coordinates and supports volunteers for build sites, ReStores, and committees through recruitment, retainment, and recognition efforts.
Resource Development Committee
With more funds coming in, Habitat for Humanity Lakeside is able to purchase more supplies to build more homes, operate efficiently, and obtain the necessary resources to make a difference. The Resource Development Committee raises funds to support affiliate operations and building projects. The Resource Development Committee holds fundraising events. The Resource Development committee also oversees the operation of Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s ReStores.
Family Services Committee
Finding qualified families and training them on the essentials of maintaining a home and making mortgage payments provides for a more sustainable model of homeownership. Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s Family Services Committee interviews potential family partners and provides homeowner training to partner families during and after the building process.
Community Outreach Committee
When the community has a greater awareness of Habitat for Humanity Lakeside and our vision and mission, Habitat for Humanity Lakeside will have more support for new projects from neighbors, increased awareness for donation and volunteer needs, and a greater understanding of how Habitat for Humanity Lakeside can be utilized within the community. The Community Outreach Committee raises public awareness of the affiliate’s work in the community and markets Habitat for Humanity Lakeside. The committee also carries out public relations on behalf of Habitat for Humanity Lakeside. The goal of the Community Outreach Committee is to connect Habitat for Humanity Lakeside with Sheboygan County and Ozaukee County communities.
Building Committee
A well built home on solid ground ensures that Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s partner families have a safe, simple, and decent home to live in for many, many years. The Building Committee plans and oversees all building and rehabilitation projects and coordinates Habitat for Humanity Lakeside’s site acquisition process.
