Why Should I Volunteer?

Volunteering with Habitat for Humanity is more than simply putting in hours. It’s a priceless learning experience that can help you reach your goals for years to come.

Build a Resume

Future employees love to see a worker who gives back to the community. Create great references through our managers and your co-volunteers!
Skills you can gain at our ReStores include cash registers, stocking shelves, loading and unloading goods, and general maintenance.

Learn for Life

Skills you learn on the build site will open future doors in construction, installation, and other much sought after jobs.

These skills can also be applied years from now when you own your home.  Rather than needing to hire a contractor, you’ll be able to confidently fix leaks, install cabinets, or maybe just retile a bathroom.

Get Scholarships

Applications for college often ask what kind of volunteering work you have done, and those with volunteering are more likely to be awarded scholarships.
